PSG, fresh from their Champions League victory, take the Club World Cup 2025 as a significant target, not just a stop on the tour.
“The Club World Cup is an incredible competition,” PSG coach Luis Enrique said after their win in Munich. “Our goal is to be competitive and aim to win a fifth trophy this season.”
The trophy, finally claimed by PSG after years of frustration and significant investment in players such as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, saw the team celebrated across Paris.
Star Players for Club World Cup?
Despite an already packed season with 58 matches, players like Champions League hero Desire Doue are set to join forces with PSG in the competition, with coach Enrique emphasizing the appeal but also concerns about fatigue.
PSG’s opener is a significant contest against Antoine Griezmann’s Atletico Madrid, followed by matches against Botafogo and Seattle Sounders, potentially leading to a total of seven matches by early July.
New Signings?
Despite signs of exhaustion, such as Ousmane Dembele’s injuries, PSG did not make any new signings, with the potential $125 million in prize money offering a strong incentive for victory in New York come July 13.
