Ukrainian officials report that Russian attacks have targeted Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, causing damage to infrastructure and vehicles.
On Saturday, Ukraine’s emergency services confirmed that Russian forces struck Dobropillia, in the Donetsk region, on Friday night, resulting in the deaths of 11 people, and injuring another 30.
Services indicated that the assault led to damage to eight five-story apartment buildings, one administrative building, and 30 vehicles.
In Bogodukhiv, Kharkiv, governor Oleh Synehubov reported via Telegram that a Russian drone attack on a civilian building has killed at least three people and injured seven.
A drone strike in Odesa caused several fires and impacted a range of structures including a hangar containing agricultural machinery, a service station, an auto parts store, solar panels, and a four-story industrial building.
Meanwhile, Alexander Drozdenko, governor of the Leningrad region, announced that a tank at Kirishi refinery, one of Russia’s largest, sustained damage from falling debris after a Ukrainian drone was intercepted.
The these attacks occur as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy states he is collaborating with the United States to expedite peace negotiations.
“We are undertaking extensive work in Europe, collaborating with the US, and preparing for meetings in Saudi Arabia to expedite peace and enhance security,” he posted on X on Friday night.
“Today, at various levels, intensive discussions with President Trump’s team are underway – numerous calls. The focus remains clear: peace as swiftly as possible, security as reliably as possible. Ukraine remains fully committed to a constructive approach.”
We continue working with partners seeking peace, focusing on necessary actions. Next week, there will be significant work in Europe, with the U.S., and in Saudi Arabia – we’re preparing a meeting to accelerate peace and solidify security foundations… pic.twitter.com/RDoGpHNYwUl
