Kamchatka Quake: The US Geological Survey’s takes a closer look

Far East Russia Shaken by Powerful Magnitude 7.8 Earthquake; Tsunami Warning Issued | Latest Earthquake Updates
A series of tsunami warnings followed the quake, but no damage or significant impact reported in the region.
The US Geological Survey notes the quake was an outcome of “shallow reverse faulting” at a depth of 10km, with multiple aftershocks measured up to 5.8 magnitude.
Governor Vladimir Solodov stated emergency services were on high alert but no damage was reported. The quake tested the resilience of the local population, and immediate inspections were carried out.
Tsunami warnings were also issued for Kuril Islands, and the US issued a tsunami advisory for parts of Alaska, which was later lifted.
Videos on social media captured the intensity of the quake, showing drastic movements and security alarms triggering.
Kamchatka, known for seismic activity, experienced two magnitude 7.0 quakes in the past week, with a notable magnitude 8.8 earthquake in July triggering a Pacific-wide tsunami alert.
