Explosions have occurred northeast of Iran’s capital Tehran, as per the state-run news agency Nour News.
Axios news agency, quoting two unnamed sources knowledgeable about the operation, reports that the Israeli Air Force has executed a strike in Iran.
Two unnamed US officials have confirmed to Reuters that Israel has carried out an attack in Iran, stating that Washington was not involved and offered no further information.
The Israeli military has not yet publicly acknowledged the attack. Nevertheless, in a statement on X, the military revealed that Israel’s civil and public security protocols have been shifted to “essential activity” as of 03:00 local time (00:00 GMT).
The guidelines mandate: a cessation of educational activities, gatherings, and workplace operations, with exceptions for essential services.
