India Emerges Victorious Over New Zealand in Thrilling ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Final | Cricket Highlights

India clinch a four-wicket victory against New Zealand in the 2025 Champions Trophy final in Dubai, securing back-to-back global cricket wins.

India’s unbeaten run in major cricket events continues, with a triumph over New Zealand in the Champions Trophy final held in Dubai. Rohit Sharma stood out, scoring 76 off 83 deliveries, while KL Rahul’s undefeated 34 propelled India to a total of 254-6 in 49 overs, earning them the victory and their third Champions Trophy title.
New Zealand, after winning the toss and batting first, managed to score 251-7 in 50 overs on a challenging Dubai pitch. Notably, half-centuries from Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell were instrumental in their total.
Rohit Sharma showcased an aggressive start, hitting seven fours and three sixes, with Hardik Pandya contributing 18 and forming a crucial 38-run partnership with Rahul for the sixth wicket. The win marks India’s 23rd in 24 matches across the last three ICC men’s events, with the only loss being to Australia in the 2023 Cricket World Cup final.
India secured its second consecutive ICC title after winning the Twenty20 World Cup against South Africa last year. For New Zealand, it’s a disappointing finish in a tournament where they won the title in 2000, remaining the sole limited-overs ICC trophy in their history.
All of India’s matches were played in Dubai due to security concerns that prevented the team from traveling to official host Pakistan. India’s undefeated journey through the tournament included victories against Bangladesh, Pakistan, New Zealand in the group phase, and Australia in the semi-final.
