The recent conflict between Israel and Iran, which lasted for 12 days, has been hailed as a success by Israel’s leadership. Several important Iranian military leaders were killed, the country’s defensive military capabilities weakened, and the United States was persuaded to participate in a strike on Iran’s Fordow nuclear site.
However, Israeli leaders have also stressed that they are prepared to take military action again in the future. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear that there is no intention to slow down their efforts.
Experts believe that Israel is now looking for the next opportunity to start another conflict with the goal of destabilizing the Islamic Republic of Iran. However, doing so would require the permission of the US, which may not be forthcoming.
The conflict between the two nations was triggered by a surprise Israeli attack in mid-June, resulting in the deaths of more than 1,000 Iranians and 29 Israelis. Israel justified the attack, claiming that Iran’s nuclear program was a threat to its security.
