Israel enforces stricter travel advice for UAE visitors, points to ‘terror’ concerns | Latest on Benjamin Netanyahu

According to Israel, ‘terrorist organizations’ are seeking revenge due to its recent military operations against Iran and in Gaza.

The Israeli National Security Council (NSC) has heightened its travel advisories for Israelis visiting or staying in the United Arab Emirates, warning of an increased risk of ‘terrorist organizations’ conducting attacks in the Gulf State.
A statement from the NSC, released on Thursday, indicates a growing threat from ‘terrorist organizations (The Iranians, Hamas, Hezbollah and Global Jihad)’ targeting Israeli interests. This threat is reportedly motivated by Israel’s military actions in the Middle East.
“They are driven by heightened motivation to exact revenge following Operation Rising Lion, in addition to the anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian incitement which has intensified since the start of Operation Iron Swords, and even more so in response to Hamas’ starvation campaign,” the statement says, referring to Israel’s military operations in Iran and Gaza.
Israel is under increased international scrutiny over the ongoing starvation crisis in Gaza, resulting from the Israeli military’s blockade on aid entering the Palestinian territory.
In 2020, the UAE became the most prominent Arab state in 30 years to formalize ties with Israel through the U.S.-mediated Abraham Accords. The Israeli and Jewish community in the UAE has grown since then.
However, the NSC statement notes that ‘terrorist organizations often focus their efforts in neighboring countries’, warning of potential attacks on Israeli and Jewish targets in the UAE, especially during Jewish holidays and Shabbat.
While the UAE is considered one of the safer regions in the Middle East, it was reported in March that three individuals were sentenced to death for the murder of an Israeli-Moldovan rabbi.
The Abu Dhabi Federal Appeal Court concluded that the murder of 28-year-old Zvi Kogan, an Orthodox Jewish organization representative, was committed with a “terrorist purpose”.
