Oscar Piastri secured his second Formula One win this season by finishing first in the Bahrain Grand Prix, this success positioning him second in the driver standings. After starting from the pole position, Piastri dominated the race and won by a margin of 15.5 seconds, showcasing his skill and advantage in the competition.
McLaren’s Lando Norris, Piastri’s teammate, was close behind, finishing in third place. Norris’s strategic performance included overcoming a five-second penalty for being out of position at the start and nearly catching second-place winner George Russell of Mercedes.
Russell, battling issues with his gearbox and DRS system, managed to hold onto second place by less than a second. Further back, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton placed fourth and fifth, representing Ferrari’s strong performance in the race.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, the reigning champion, faced difficulties during his pit stops, resulting in a sixth-place finish. Pierre Gasly of Alpine took seventh, earning the team their first points of the season.
Piastri, with his success at the Bahrain Grand Prix, becomes the first driver to win multiple races in the 2025 Formula One season. This victory, combined with his previous win at the Chinese Grand Prix, highlights his rising prowess in the sport.
