Nepal Selects Ex-Australian Cricketer Law as Latest Team Head Coach

Former coach Stuart Law takes on Nepal men’s team for two years.

Cricket coach Stuart Law, who previously led the United States team to the 2024 T20 World Cup Super 8s, has been appointed as the head coach of the Nepal men’s team for a two-year term.
Replacing Monty Desai, whose two-year term with the Nepal cricket team ended without contract renewal, Law brings a wealth of international coaching experience.
Law played a crucial role in Australia’s 1996 Cricket World Cup campaign, and most recently, as the coach of the United States, he helped them achieve a historic victory over Pakistan during their inaugural World Cup appearance. This was one of the most significant upsets in World Cup history.
A former right-handed batsman, Law has previously coached teams in various countries including West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
Nepal is set to face Scotland and the Netherlands in the World Cup League 2 in June, a component of the qualification process for the 2027 Cricket World Cup, which will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. They will also participate in the 2026 T20 World Cup qualifiers in October, after finishing at the bottom of their group in the 2024 edition.
Alongside his international coaching career, Law spent a significant portion of his playing career in England with Essex and Lancashire. He also served as the head coach for Middlesex before his role with the United States cricket team.
