Kim Jong Un’s upcoming trip to China is to participate in a military parade with Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin.
This inspection was conducted prior to his planned visit to Beijing, where he will join Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin at a military parade.
Because of its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programmes, North Korea is subject to strict international sanctions, enacted in response to their development in breach of United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Experts and international officials say these sanctions have become less effective due to increased economic, military, and political support from Russia and China.
According to the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim stated that the updated production process will improve the combat readiness of the major missile units.
North Korea has supplied soldiers, artillery shells, and missiles to Russia for use in its conflict in Ukraine.
The North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also criticized the cooperation between the US, Japan, and South Korea, particularly regarding a recent joint statement on cybersecurity threats from North Korea.
In a statement carried by KCNA, the ministry said, “The US is denounced and rejected for using cyberspace as a theater of geopolitical confrontation and hostile propaganda through its increased collaboration with its satellites.”
“If the US continues with its outmoded and malicious hostile activities against the DPRK in collaboration with its satellite nations, it will only accumulate distrust and hostility between the DPRK and the US,” the spokesperson added, referring to the initials of North Korea’s formal name.
