Parliamentary Committee in UK Seeks Clarification on BCG’s Involvement in Gaza Affairs | Middle East Gazette

A UK parliamentary committee has asked Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to explain its role in Gaza, including its involvement with the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which has been linked to the deaths of over 700 Palestinians. Labour MP Liam Byrne, who leads the House of Commons Business and Trade Select Committee, requested BCG provide clear information about its activities in Gaza as part of an examination of the UK’s connections to the conflict in the region.

Byrne, in a letter to BCG CEO Christoph Schweizer, referred to Financial Times reports indicating that the firm prepared cost estimates for relocating Palestinians from Gaza and entered into a multimillion-dollar contract to help establish the GHF. The GHF has faced condemnation, including from the United Nations and various aid organizations, for its reported involvement in incidents where US security contractors and Israeli forces have fired on Palestinians seeking aid.

Byrne’s letter to BCG asks for detailed information on the timeline of BCG’s involvement with the GHF, other companies and institutions connected to the GHF, and who commissioned the relocation proposals. He also requests clarification on the unauthorized aspects of BCG’s work and how the firm is addressing these issues.

The committee is looking for a detailed response by July 22, given the significance and public interest in these questions. The idea of relocating Palestinians has been at the center of discussions between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump. BCG has stated that it has ended its involvement with the GHF and that some work associated with the GHF was unauthorized, underscoring that the firm has dismissed the partners involved in the unauthorized activities.
