Trump believes that Beijing and Moscow are unlikely to use military force against the United States, citing the superiority of Washington’s military. According to the US president, neither China nor Russia would dare to engage in military action against the US due to the devastating consequences such action would bring. Trump expressed disappointment in Putin’s failure to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine, emphasizing that it is about helping people live rather than just the issue of Ukraine. The comments come at a time when China and Russia are strengthening their ties to challenge the Western-led international order. At the SCO summit in China, both Xi and Putin criticized Washington’s dominance in global affairs. Putin also attended China’s largest military parade, marking the 80th anniversary of Japan’s defeat in World War II. Trump dismissed the parade as a challenge to the US and highlighted his good relationship with President Xi, stating that China needs the US more than the other way around.
