Will Israel Continue Its Military Campaign in Gaza? | The Israel-Palestine Dispute

The temporary halt in hostilities in Gaza is on shaky ground, as Israel pushes for a continuation of phase one.

As Palestinians in Gaza prepared to enter the sacred month of Ramadan, the second stage of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas was supposed to commence.

However, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration has now expressed a desire to revisit the terms of the agreement.

Israel is demanding that Hamas extend the first phase of the ceasefire, while also proposing to release half of the remaining 59 captives in return.

Additionally, Israel has once again restricted the flow of aid and resources to Gaza.

Hamas has accused Israel of defaulting on their current agreement, and is now appealing to the global community to intervene.

What are the prospects for maintaining the ceasefire?
