A key witness in Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking trial and one of Jeffrey Epstein’s accusers, Annie Farmer, is calling on the government to release information regarding Epstein, especially if there is “nothing to hide.” Farmer has expressed exhaustion over the politicization of the case, feeling that it has been used to sensationalize the media cycle with little meaningful outcome. Despite this, she insists that victims of these crimes are real people with feelings and the case should not be dismissed. Farmer and her sister Maria were the first to report abuse by Epstein to the NYPD and FBI in 1996. Maria is currently suing the federal government for negligence and failing to protect victims. Annie Farmer questions the Trump administration’s handling of the case and is skeptical of their claims about releasing more information. She also expressed concern over the recent firing of federal prosecutor Maureen Comey, who prosecuted both Epstein and Maxwell, and is disturbed by calls for a pardon for Maxwell. The loss of Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most outspoken accusers who committed suicide in April, has renewed her energy to understand where the justice system failed.
