Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, provides testimony in court regarding allegations of tax evasion.

In a court hearing in Spain concerning tax evasion allegations, Real Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelotti stated that he “never thought about committing fraud.” He is being accused of underpaying 1 million euros (approximately £830,000) in taxes related to his salary at Real Madrid during his tenure from 2013 to 2015.

Having served as both Chelsea and Everton’s boss in the past, Ancelotti resumed his position at Real Madrid in 2021. Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of four years and nine months along with a fine of 3.2 million euros (approximately £2.7m) for allegedly not declaring income from image rights on his tax returns. Ancelotti had only paid taxes on his Real salary.

According to Ancelotti, the Italian believed his tax matters were in order, as he stated to the Provincial Court of Madrid.
