Christian Brückner decline to participate in interview drafted by Metropolitan Police

The suspect in the high-profile disappearance of British toddler Madeleine McCann, Christian Bruecker, has refused to be interviewed by the Metropolitan Police ahead of his release for a separate crime. Bruecker, a German national, is serving a seven-year prison sentence for the rape of an elderly woman in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2005. He has not been charged in relation to Madeleine’s disappearance and denies any involvement. Madeleine vanished from her holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in 2007 while her parents were dining at a nearby restaurant. Despite extensive investigations and recent searches, investigators have been unable to locate Madeleine or gather enough evidence to charge Bruecker with her disappearance.
