On Thursday morning, the American Meteor Society received numerous reports of a fireball sighting over several Southeastern states, specifically Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Videos captured by drivers in these states displayed a light streaking across the sky and descending rapidly.
According to experts at the society, the fireball is classified as a bolide – a less common, sizable fireball that produces a sonic boom.
