A fisherman from Peru, Maximo Napa, has been reunited with his family after being lost at sea for 95 days. Initially, he set out from the town of Marcona on 7 December, intending to spend two weeks at sea. Unfortunately, stormy weather diverted his boat’s course just 10 days into his trip. Running out of the food he had brought with him, he went adrift in the Pacific Ocean. Eventually, an Ecuadorian fishing patrol discovered Mr. Napa, critically and severely dehydrated, approximately 680 miles off the coast. In order to survive, he resorted to consuming roaches, birds, and sea turtles.
