Mobile phone footage contradicts Israel’s account of the incident in which soldiers fired on a convoy of ambulances and a fire truck on 23rd March, resulting in the deaths of 15 rescue workers. The video was obtained by the Palestine Red Crescent Society from the phone of a deceased paramedic and shows the vehicles, with headlights and emergency lights turned on, being targeted. The IDF initially claimed that uncoordinated and suspiciously advancing vehicles with no lights were fired upon by their troops. A survivor further confirmed that the ambulances were clearly marked and illuminated from the inside and out. In response to the new footage, the IDF has agreed to thoroughly investigate the incident and check all available evidence.
