Formal detainees facing confinement in holding centers despite liberation

Scam workers who have been freed from compounds on the Thai-Myanmar border are now facing difficulties as conditions in makeshift camps become unsanitary and food becomes barely sufficient. The release of thousands of people from notorious scam centers has slowed down, leading to many being stranded. The scam centers have thrived along the border for years. People are trapped in dirty camps as the process of assessing victims and sending them back home is very slow. The armed militia groups holding them do not have enough capacity to support such a large number of people.
