The founder of instant messaging app Telegram, Pavel Durov, claims that the more than 100 children he has fathered will inherit his estimated $13.9bn (£10.3bn) fortune equally. Mr Durov, the “official father” of six children with three different partners, also says that he has over 100 other children after donating sperm to a fertility clinic. Among these children, the 40-year-old technology tycoon has recently written a will because his job “involves risks” and he still firmly denies any criminal charges he faces in France for failing to properly moderate Telegram to reduce criminal activities. Despite this, the children will only have access to their inheritance after 30 years as Mr Durov wants them to “live like normal people” and “build themselves up alone”.
Pavel Durov also stated in a French political magazine Le Point that his children’s inheritance would not become available until 30 years after his death. He desires for them to live normal lives, to build themselves independently, and to learn to trust and create without financial dependency.
