A top official at the US FDA was told to leave his job, according to US media reports. Peter Marks offered his resignation to HHS officials on Friday after being given the choice between resignation or termination. Marks stated in his resignation letter that the Secretary does not want truth and transparency but rather wants subservient confirmation of his misinformation and lies. Marks was part of the team that helped develop COVID-19 vaccines in the first Trump administration. Two people have died of measles, and 523 cases have been reported in the US, with 400 of them in Texas. Marks has been the director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research within the FDA since 2016. Kennedy, who leads the HHS and oversees the FDA, is a well-known vaccine skeptic. This week, Kennedy announced plans to restructure the HHS, including cutting 10,000 employees.
