Pope Francis made an appearance from the window of a hospital in Rome, marking his first public sighting since his admission in February. This sighting was met with enthusiastic crowds.
According to the medical team treating him, the 88-year-old Pope will require at least two months of rest at the Vatican for his recovery.
Dr. Sergio Alfieri, one of the doctors responsible for the Pope’s care, mentioned that during the past five weeks, Pope Francis experienced “two very critical episodes” that posed a significant threat to his life.
