Pro-Ukraine protests have taken place across the US following a heated exchange between Donald Trump, JD Vance, and Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.
Hundreds gathered in New York, Los Angeles, and Boston in support of Ukraine after the dispute in the Oval Office.
Protesters holding pro-Ukraine signs also lined a road in Waitsfield, Vermont, where Vice-President Vance and his family were on a ski holiday.
The Vance family reportedly moved to an undisclosed location due to the demonstrations.
A protest was organized in Waitsfield against the Trump-Vance administration before their clash with Zelensky, but many signs referenced the incident and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Judy Daly, from Indivisible Mad River Valley, which organized the protest, stated, “Friday’s performance at the White House has likely galvanized even more people to come out today.”
Protester Cori Giroux added, “[Vance] crossed the line.”
Before the Vance family’s trip, Vermont’s Republican Governor Phil Scott urged people to “be respectful” to them.
Scott, who did not vote for Trump, said, “I welcome the vice-president and his family to Vermont and hope they have a pleasant weekend here.”
He added, “It’s no surprise they chose Vermont, given the ample snow this winter, which has benefitted our economy.”
Vance, who has three young children, has not commented on the protests. Counter-protesters supporting Trump and Vance were also present in Waitsfield.
Demonstrators also protested outside Tesla stores across the US on Saturday against Elon Musk’s push to reduce government spending.
Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla, has been tasked by US President Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency, commonly known as Doge.

In a tense encounter in the Oval Office on Friday, Trump urged Zelensky to make a deal with Russia “or we are out”. He accused Zelensky of not showing enough gratitude for US support during Ukraine’s fight against Russia’s invasion and suggested he was “gambling with World War Three”.
