Rescue teams in Myanmar successfully extracted a woman from the wreckage of a fallen apartment building in Mandalay, over a day after she became trapped. After a lengthy and arduous process, 30-year-old Phyu Lay Khaing was brought to safety on a stretcher as onlookers cheered. She was then taken to the hospital for a medical assessment, and before leaving, she embraced her husband. The earthquake in Myanmar, which measured 7.7 in magnitude and struck on Friday, has resulted in the deaths of over 1,600 people and left thousands more injured. The earthquake also caused significant damage in neighboring countries.
