British singer-songwriter FKA Twigs and Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf have reached an agreement to settle FKA Twigs’ 2020 lawsuit accusing LaBeouf of physical, mental, and emotional abuse.
FKA Twigs, real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett, had accused her former partner of these allegations.
Their lawyers confirmed the settlement but stated details would ‘remain private’.
LaBeouf previously stated some allegations are not true but apologised for causing hurt.
This settlement brings an end to a case that had been ongoing for five years with little progress.
According to legal documents seen by Us Weekly,
Barnett withdrew all claims against LaBeouf with prejudice, meaning that she cannot refile them in the future.
An initial trial was postponed.

In a joint statement, Barnett’s lawyer Bryan Freedman and LaBeouf’s lawyer Shawn Holley
stated both parties wished each other well. They said “we have agreed to settle our case out of court”
and “wish each other personal happiness, professional success, and peace in the future”.
The pair met on the set of the movie Honey Boy in 2018 and dated until 2019.
Barnett accused LaBeouf of ‘relentless abuse’ including ‘mental and verbal harassment’ that escalated to physical violence.
She detailed how LaBeouf would wake her up during the night and strangle her, throw her against a car during arguments,
and become angry when she spoke to other men.
In a 2021 interview with Louis Theroux on his BBC Radio 4 Grounded podcast,
Barnett said she felt “scared and intimidated and controlled” by LaBeouf and was left with ongoing mental trauma.
She additionally mentioned she developed PTSD as a result of the relationship.
LaBeouf has previously apologized for causing hurt to those around him,
including Barnett and another woman named Karolyn Pho.
Barnett released her latest album, ‘Eusexua’, this year, and has received multiple awards and nominations.
LaBeouf’s latest movie was the crime drama ‘Henry Johnson’, and he is known for his roles in franchises like ‘Transformers’ and ‘Indiana Jones’.
