The United Kingdom is anticipated to be the venue for the 2035 Women’s World Cup as it presented the sole legitimate proposal for hosting the event.

The United Kingdom is set to host the 2035 Women’s World Cup as the only “valid” bidder for the tournament, according to Fifa president Gianni Infantino.

England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland previously submitted a joint expression of interest in March to host the World Cup across the home nations.

Under Fifa rotation rules, the tournament must be held in either Europe or Africa.

Spain’s federation president Rafael Louzan stated last week that they were considering a joint bid with Portugal and Morocco, but the deadline for expressions of interest has passed and Infantino confirmed that the UK’s bid is the only one received for 2035, with the United States set to host the 2031 edition.

“The bidding process has confirmed one bid for 2031 and one valid bid for 2035,” Infantino announced at a Uefa congress in Belgrade, noting that the 2031 bid comes from the United States and potentially other Concacaf countries, while the 2035 bid is from Europe and the home nations.

The path is now clear for the Women’s World Cup to be held in great nations in 2031 and 2035, further strengthening the women’s football movement.
