In a post on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump has called for an examination of the Smithsonian Institution’s museums. He criticized their depiction of US history as “horrible” and argued that they overly focus on the negative aspects of slavery.
Responding to this, the White House has indicated that it expects the review process to conclude early in 2026, in time for the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
