Brazilian officials are currently investigating the levels of river pollution following a truck crash that resulted in a chemical dye spill in São Paulo.
The spill took place when a truck carrying containers of a blue dye solution crashed into a pole, leading to the dye pouring into a manhole linked to the Jundiai River.
Local authorities have announced their efforts to rescue and protect the animals affected by the incident.
The dye, which is an organic chemical derived from acetic acid, is commonly used in the production of Styrofoam containers and egg cartons.
