‘Long-lasting, just peace’ can be achieved with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Ukraine is not an obstacle to a peace agreement with Russia and emphasized the importance of long-lasting peace under the leadership of US President Donald Trump.“Our approach now: we are seeking diplomatic solutions through strong diplomacy,” he said. “We believe with President Trump’s leadership, we can achieve lasting and just peace.”
Ukraine is open to talks, but President Volodymyr Zelenskyy insists, as does Andrii Sybiha, that Ukraine’s sovereignty is non-negotiable and that Russia must pull out of occupied territories.
In 2014, Russia annexed the Crimean Peninsula and has been controlling significant parts of eastern Ukraine since its full-scale invasion in 2022.
