At least three construction workers died and seven were injured when a partially-constructed piece of elevated highway fell apart in South Korea on Tuesday. In Cheonan, approximately 90 kilometers south of Seoul, the 50-meter long beams that were supporting the bridge failed and collapsed to the ground. Authorities believe there could be at least one more victim trapped under the debris. The exact cause of the collapse is yet to be determined. Acting President Choi Sang-mok has instructed relevant agencies to deploy all necessary personnel and equipment to the site of the incident. The Labor Ministry of South Korea reported over 8,000 work-related deaths between 2020 and 2023. The story continues to unfold, and updates will be provided.
