On Tuesday, Italian authorities announced the arrest of 29 individuals across various provinces in Italy, including the involvement of a German police sergeant in the German state of Baden-Württemberg.

The public prosecutor’s office and police in Waiblingen, a suburb of Stuttgart, revealed that the arrested police officer from Baden-Württemberg provided support to the Calabrian ‘ndrangheta mafia group.

An arrest warrant was reportedly issued against the 46-year-old police sergeant for violating confidentiality.

During the operation, a total of 34 arrest warrants and 40 search warrants were executed in both Italy and Germany.

In addition to Baden-Württemberg, investigations were underway in the German states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland.
