On Monday, Copenhagen Airport suspended operations following the sighting of multiple drones in the vicinity, as reported by Danish authorities. The airport’s official Twitter account announced the shutdown due to “activity” and later resumed operations, although they warned of possible delays and cancellations.
The police stated that the airport was temporarily closed for takeoffs and landings due to the presence of 2-3 large drones in the area. According to FlightRadar tracking service, approximately 35 flights were diverted from the airport. The airport halted air traffic at 8:26 p.m. local time (1826 UTC), with no immediate indication of when operations would resume.
Security concerns in northern Europe have been raised due to recent instances of Russian sabotage and multiple drones, as well as fighter jet incursions into NATO airspace.
