Foreign ministers from NATO member states convened for a second day in Brussels on Friday amid growing tensions between the US and the rest of the alliance, as well as ongoing efforts to establish peace in Ukraine.

Although NATO endeavors to present a united front as a military alliance, the US, under the leadership of President Donald Trump, has ignited a trade war with Europe and Canada through the imposition of numerous tariffs.

However, on Friday, European NATO members criticized Russia for its actions in undermining the Ukraine peace deal proposed by Trump, in a transparent effort to convince Washington to adopt a more robust stance against Moscow.
