A reproductive health facility in Palm Springs, California was damaged in an explosion on Saturday. One person died and at least five others were injured in the blast. Police have stated that the explosion was likely the result of a deliberate attack and the FBI has described it as an “act of terrorism.” Mayor Ron DeHarte stated that the explosion was caused by a bomb that was either in or near a car. Dr. Maher Abdallah, director of the American Reproductive Centers fertility clinic, confirmed that his clinic was damaged but that his staff were all safe and accounted for. The explosion damaged the office space where consultations are conducted but did not harm the IVF lab or any embryos stored there.
