Former F1 Team Principal, Eddie Jordan, Passes Away at Age 76

Eddie Jordan, the former Formula 1 team owner, has passed away at the age of 76. His family announced the news on Thursday, expressing their profound sadness at the loss of the renowned TV pundit and entrepreneur.

“They brought an abundance of charisma, energy, and Irish charm wherever they went,” Jordan’s family stated in a tribute. “There is a huge void in our lives without his presence.”

Known for owning his own Jordan Formula 1 team in the 1990s and 2000s, Jordan also had a memorable stint as a television commentator and analyst after selling the team in 2005. He made history by giving Michael Schumacher his first race in Formula 1.

One of the team’s standout moments came when Damon Hill and Schumacher’s younger brother, Ralf, achieved a 1-2 finish in the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.

Formula 1 paid tribute to Jordan, naming him a “legendary team owner and an all-around entertainer in the F1 family.” Stefano Domenicali, the President and CEO of Formula 1, expressed deep sadness, stating that Jordan’s energy always brought smiles to people’s faces, showcasing his genuine and brilliant nature.
