An Israeli drone strike has resulted in the death of a Hamas official, along with his son and daughter, in southern Lebanon, according to reports from Israel, Lebanon, and the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas.

“At approximately 3:45 a.m. (0045 GMT), a hostile drone attacked a residential apartment in the Al-Zahour neighborhood,” in the southern port city of Sidon, the Lebanese state-run news agency NNA stated.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the strike, stating it targeted and eliminated the terrorist Hassan Farhat, who was the commander of Hamas’ Western Arena in Lebanon.

Farhat is alleged to have organized numerous terror attacks against Israeli civilians and the Israeli army, and was reportedly responsible for rocket attacks on February 14 of the previous year.

This attack was condemned by Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s office as a clear violation of a US-backed ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
