German Postal Service Announces Plan to Cut 8,000 Positions – DW – 03/06/2025

Eight thousand employees of Deutsche Post, Germany’s mail service, will lose their jobs this year, the company announced on Thursday. This decision is part of a larger plan to reduce costs, and it will be implemented in a socially responsible manner. The job cuts will occur through natural fluctuation. The company also reported a 3% increase in revenue, reaching €84.2 billion ($91.1 billion), but there was a 7.2% decline in operating profit, which fell to €5.9 billion.
