Israel Claims Attacks Have Slowed Iran’s Nuclear Program by Years
“The eradication of individuals steering and advancing the weaponization of the nuclear program is extremely significant,” he noted, adding, “We have already achieved considerable progress. Nevertheless, we will continue doing everything possible to neutralize this threat.”
A week prior, hostilities flared up between Israel and Iran, marked by Israeli airstrikes on nuclear and military sites, top generals, and nuclear scientists.
The Iranian state news agency Tasnim identified the “martyrd” scientists as “Abdolhamid Minouchehr, Ahmadreza Zolfaghari, Amirhossein Feqhi, Motalleblizadeh, Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, and Fereydoun Abbasi.”
Israel remains certain that Iran is attempting to build a nuclear weapon, a charge Iran’s leadership has consistently denied.
Iran claims its nuclear program is for civilian purposes, yet experts and the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN’s nuclear facilities inspector, have cast doubt and criticism on those claims.
