Leaders Unite in Kyiv – DW – October 5, 2025

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that leaders of the “coalition of the willing” will be meeting in Kyiv this Saturday. He did not specify which countries will be attending, but stated that the meeting will be significant for European security. The coalition currently includes around 30 countries, including Germany, France, and Britain, who are allied with Ukraine and willing to support it following a possible ceasefire. The United States is not part of this coalition, although President Donald Trump has encouraged Kyiv and Moscow to come to an agreement on a ceasefire. Kyiv has been urging its European allies to send soldiers to enforce a potential ceasefire and prevent future aggression by Russia, as well as increase sanctions.
