div>Luigi M. was indicted on Thursday for the federal murder charge in the death of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, who was killed outside a hotel in New York City last year.
In a four-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Manhattan, M. faces charges including murder through the use of a firearm, which may result in the death penalty. Additionally, M. is charged with two counts of stalking and a firearms offense.
M. is also facing separate charges by New York state prosecutors for Thompson’s murder, but without the possibility of the death penalty. M. is currently awaiting trial.
