Mourinho, Fenerbahce’s head coach, faces ban over ‘aggressive’ remarks – DW – 28/02/2025

The Turkish Football Federation penalized Fenerbahce’s head coach, Jose Mourinho, with a four-match ban and a hefty fine this Thursday. The decision comes after the 62-year-old Portuguese coach made “offensive” remarks about Turkish referees following a game against Galaçi Sağlık.

Mourinho has been ordered to pay 1,617,000 Turkish lira, which is equivalent to approximately €42,616 or $44,000. This financial penalty targets his criticism of the match officials during a press conference.

Further details to follow.
