Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt reported that German delegations have conducted “technical discussions with Afghan representatives” in Qatar, with further meetings planned in the coming weeks.
Dobrindt stated that Germany aims to facilitate “regular” deportations to Afghanistan.
Since the Taliban, an Islamist group, regained power in Afghanistan following the 2021 NATO pullout, the German government has maintained a lack of official diplomatic ties with them.
