Protesters took to parks, public squares, and other open spaces as Trump prepared to deliver his address.

The demonstrations were organized by the 50501 Movement. Protesters are rallying against various controversial moves by Trump, ranging from tariffs, to his stance on the war in Ukraine, and the actions of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

“There are so many things to fight, but I hope by being here we are starting some conversations,” the Associated Press quoted Sara Grummer-Strawn in the southeastern city of Atlanta as saying. She held a sign declaring “So Much Wrong, So Little Space.”

Events were scheduled throughout the day in all 50 states.

Donald Trump’sfirst 43 days in office have been marked by a tsunami of executive orders — 76 so far — that have at least tried to cut foreign aid, fire thousands of government workers and dismantle federal agencies.

The president is expected to celebrate the steps he has taken to implement his “America First” agenda, and to outline the plans for his remaining 1,419 days in office.

“TOMORROW NIGHT WILL BE BIG. I WILL TELL IT LIKE IT IS!” he wrote on his Truth Social platform on Monday.

But the Republican is also facing challenges. Many of his orders have been bogged down in courts and his party’s slim hold on Congress may come under threat if his actions prove to be too unpopular, especially with midterm elections slated for 2026.
