Aid agency: Videoayan moments preceding the fatalities of Gaza aid workers
The aid agency claims the video, available on X, was retrieved from the phone of aid worker Rifat Radwan. It captures the moments before the medics died, with clear markings on ambulances and emergency lights active amid heavy gunfire.
The nearly 7-minute footage, apparently shot from inside a moving vehicle, depicts a red firetruck and ambulances navigating the night amidst continuous automatic gunfire.
The vehicles halt beside another on the roadside, and two uniformed individuals disembark, as per the Red Crescent.
The teams are described as not acting in an unusual or threatening manner as three medics step out of the vehicles and approach an attacked ambulance.
Moments later, a burst of gunfire erupts, and the screen goes dark.
“This video clearly refutes the occupation’s claims that Israeli forces did not target ambulances randomly and that some vehicles approached suspiciously without lights or emergency markings,” the Palestinian Red Crescent stated. “The footage unveils the truth, debunking this false claim.”
Among those killed were eight Red Crescent staff members, six representatives from the Gaza civil defense agency, and an employee of the UN Palestinian refugee agency.
As for its actions, the Israeli military insists it “did not attack” any ambulances arbitrarily, emphasizing its forces “engaged” with “terrorists” approaching them in “suspicious vehicles.”
