Billionaire Elon Musk’s SpaceX canceled the eighth test flight of its Starship rocket on Monday due to an unspecified issue in the core chip of the spacecraft.
Musk stated, “There were too many uncertainties about this flight, and the ground spin start pressure was 20 bar low.” So, they decided to postpone the launch for a couple of days.
This decision came right before the flight was scheduled to take off.
According to X, a 40-second countdown had been paused when engineers likely found issues with the spacecraft during a final check.
This was supposed to be the first Starship launch since January, when eight minutes into the flight, the rocket exploded over the Caribbean. Debris from the rocket landed on the Turks and Caicos Islands, leading to a federal probe.
The world’s biggest and most powerful rocket, about 100 feet (30 meters) taller than the Statue of Liberty, was set to take off from SpaceX’s Starbase facility in Boca Chica, Texas.
