A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck near Mandalay, Myanmar, on Sunday morning, marking the latest in a series of aftershocks. This follows a more powerful 7.7-magnitude quake on Friday that resulted in at least 1,644 fatalities. As of yet, there have been no immediate reports of additional damage from Sunday’s earthquake.
The earthquake hit while rescue operations were ongoing in the areas worst affected by Friday’s massive tremor. Emergency teams are still working to assist those affected and to assess the full extent of the damage.
