On Saturday, emergency services responded to a situation at the Palace of Westminster in London, where a man with a Palestinian flag made his way to Big Ben tower. To secure the area, a nearby street was shut down, with multiple emergency vehicles and bystanders separated by a police barrier observing the events unfold.

Several pictures captured the man, who was barefoot, standing precariously on a ledge of the Elizabeth Tower, the tower housing Big Ben.

The Metropolitan Police, along with firefighters and ambulance services, were present at the scene, working towards a safe resolution of the incident. In an effort to communicate with the individual on the ledge, three emergency responders used a fire brigade ladder platform to reach the man’s position.
