Construction commences in Ireland to unearth the remains of hundreds of babies discovered at an unwed mothers’ institution.

Unmarried pregnant women and their children in Ireland were accommodated in facilities known as ‘Mother-and-baby homes,’ which were unfortunately marked by severe circumstances, elevated mortality rates, and insufficient aid for the women and their children.
