Divisions among ambassadors in Brussels are expected to emerge over the justification for Israel’s recent attack on Iran, which could hinder the European Union (EU) in finding a unified response to the crisis, according to sources spoken to by Euronews. The debate centers on whether the EU should assert that Israel has the right to defend itself in the context of the attacks against Iran. While several member states, including Austria, Czechia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, and the Netherlands, are in favor of including such a line, consensus has not been achieved. Other countries argue that there is insufficient evidence supporting Israel’s right to launch an attack under international law.
